The ASR 9006 uses an inventive side to back airflow to allow for CO deployment regardless of the horizontal slot orientation. Like the ASR 9010, the ASR 9006 uses the innovative Cisco IOS XR software which is built especially for distributed systems like the Cisco ASR 9000 Series. Cisco IOS XR Software is based on a unique microkernel architecture to enable true modularity. This modularity provides the path to nonstop operations in software image upgrades or module changes without affecting normal platform operations.
